BeCircular 2024: 14 Brussels Projects Recognised for their Circular Commitment
An Open and Innovative Call for Projects
BeCircular 2024 offered up to 200,000 euros in funding to support circular initiatives, with three categories tailored to the development stage of the projects (Starter, Diversification, Scale-up). Four themes guided this edition:
- New circular economyThe circular economy is a restorative and regenerative economy. By maintaining the value of the products, materials and resources in the economy through smart product design, repurposing and/or shared use of products, it reduces the extraction of natural resources by using resources already present in the economy. models
- Sustainable food
- 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Circular mobility and logistics
Notable innovations were also introduced, including the expansion of the “Starter” category to companies less than three years old.
More Than Financial Support
Beyond financial support, the call enabled winners to join a recognised ecosystem of circular businesses and to benefit from regional support services and an extra visibility. It was also an opportunity for them to showcase their projects that are transforming the Brussels economy.
