This programme supports initiatives capable of moving from the innovation stage to the production stage, by providing concrete solutions to environmental and industrial challenges.

Support at a Crucial Juncture

Greenlab targets projects that already have a proof of concept and have undergone initial market testing. The aim is to support them during a decisive phase: structuring their model, validating their feasibility and preparing for scaling up.

Training, coaching and networking help to strengthen their viability and embed them within the Brussels ecosystem.

Projects Recognised for Their Impact

At the end of the programme, two projects stood out for their innovation and potential:

  • The Jury Prize was awarded to a project about repurposingRepurposing designates all operations by which substances, materials or products that have become waste are used again. companies’ dormant stock and waste into useful, attractive and sustainable objects.
  • The People’s Choice Award went to the babyloop project, a modular and adaptable baby carrier designed to accompany the child from birth through to early childhood, whilst reducing overconsumption and textile waste.

Accelerating the Circular EconomyThe circular economy is a restorative and regenerative economy. By maintaining the value of the products, materials and resources in the economy through smart product design, repurposing and/or shared use of products, it reduces the extraction of natural resources by using resources already present in the economy. in Brussels

By focusing on circular industrial production, the programme helps to optimise resource use, support the relocation of certain activities and develop new sustainable business models.

In this way, Greenlab contributes to the transition towards a more circular economy, whilst strengthening the local economy.
