In the Netherlands, CIRCO has developed a circular design approach that companies and design professionals can be trained in. Circular Design, the eco-design of products, services, business models and value chains, is crucial to accelerate this transition. It enables companies (especially manufacturers) and design professionals to play an important role.
With the support of the Walloon government and Circular Wallonia, the MecaTech Cluster, responsible for the coordination of the Task Force for Mechanical Engineering, intends to help 500 businesses develop a circular economyThe circular economy is a restorative and regenerative economy. By maintaining the value of the products, materials and resources in the economy through smart product design, repurposing and/or shared use of products, it reduces the extraction of natural resources by using resources already present in the economy. design by 2024.
Participants are ‘activated’ in groups of ten (CIRCO Track) to familiarise themselves with the CIRCO approach.
