European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform 2026

The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) will hold its annual conference in Brussels on 22 and 23 April 2026, under the theme “A competitive and fair circular Europe: The ambition at the heart of the single market”. This year, the conference will focus on the upcoming Circular Economy Act.

Over the two days, the new ECESP Coordination Group, composed of a broad range of pan-European organisations, will organise and take part in the various sessions, focusing on both policy and practical implementation.

Day 1: High-level political debates (organised by the European Commission)

  • Breakout session 1: Circular Bioeconomy in Action: Policy Progress, Social Impact and Skills for the Future
  • Breakout session 2: Circular EconomyThe circular economy is a restorative and regenerative economy. By maintaining the value of the products, materials and resources in the economy through smart product design, repurposing and/or shared use of products, it reduces the extraction of natural resources by using resources already present in the economy. Day 2: Stakeholder day (organised by the European Economic and Social Committee)

  • Parallel session topic 1: The role of transition brokers in the circular value chains
  • Parallel session topic 2: Strategic progress, social legitimacy and practical implementations of the bioeconomy strategy
  • Parallel session topic 3: Building an inclusive circular society
  • Parallel session topic 4: Identifying barriers to finance the Circular economy
  • Parallel session topic 5: Incentivising buy, Re/Made in Europe
